Our new Summative Assessment reporting feature is now live and we will be providing a video shortly, but in the meantime, here is a run through of how to go about it:
1) First you need to understand what the Summative Assessment is... Within the Reports section of Kinderloop, take a look at what we call 'Templates', and click on the one we provide as a starting point for you, called Summative Assessment:
2) Take note of the blue cogs (gears) to the right of each component in this template. Click on the one shown in the screen shot above for the component that has 'Posts demonstrating this'. You'll be shown what kinds of posts will be displayed in the report.
3) Note how this 'post' component is looking for posts that have been made by family. Many educators choose the 'Linked to tags' selection and then choose which tags will be searched upon.
4) Scroll a bit further down to the section headed Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity.
4) Similarly, click on the blue cog to the right of Posts demonstrating this. You will be shown what posts will be displayed in the report for this section.
5) Note that posts that have the particular tags relating to EYLF 1 will be shown in this part of the report. If you would like to show posts that use different tags then choose the 'Linked to tags' option and then select those tags. The ones shown in the screen shot above are our defaults and you're very welcome to change them to suit your setup. Happy to help.
Press Cancel for now.
6) Now that you can see how the template is constructed, go to the Child report. Choose a child, in my example I have chosen Sarah R. Once a child has been selected, choose a date range that you wish the report to encompass. In my example below I have had to go back a year because this particular child in my test Kinderloop doesn't have many posts.
7) When I Generate New Reports the system looks between those dates for all posts relating to this child.
8) Clicking on Summative Assessment, I can now see that these 'post' components we looked at earlier have been filled, here we can see the family posts (we colour them in blue to differentiate them from your posts):
and scrolling further down we see those posts that have been linked to the EYLF 1 tags:
We have hopefully got the balance right between providing enough detail but not too much that it is overwhelming. This is the most tricky part of Kinderloop, so happy to have any feedback.
